EU tire labelling rules help consumers make an informed purchase decision when they replace their tires, as the label highlights the performance of the tire on issues relating to fuel efficiency, safety and noise. From May 2021, Regulation (EU) 2020/740 applies, changing the way tires are labelled.
Wet grip
The wet grip rating indicates how well the tire will perform in wet conditions, with performance graded from class A down to E.
Fuel efficiency
Depending on the tire’s rolling resistance, its fuel efficiency will range from class A to class E.
Noise level
